Hannah’s Cupboard serves four (4) centers in the Baltimore Metro area; providing material assistance to parents of children – infant to 4T. We regularly need Similac – Advance Formula (Stage 1 – powder/12.4 oz) and any brand of disposable diapers, particularly sizes 4, 5 and 6.

Peer Counselor   These volunteers counsel the client and provide follow-up. In addition, in the absence of a receptionist, counselors perform receptionist duties as well. Requirements for the job are as follows: completion of the application, an interview, one shift per week, completion of a CPC training class, on-the-job training, and participation in volunteer in-services.

Helpline Peer Counselor   These volunteers have the helpline “call-forwarded” to their home. Helpline counselors make appointments, do crisis counseling, take messages, and make referrals. Requirements for the job are as follows: completion of the application, an interview, one shift per week, completion of a CPC training class, on-the-job training, and participation in volunteer in-services.

Receptionist   Receptionists, as opposed to Helpline counselors, work at the center but do have some similar responsibilities. In addition to Helpline responsibilities, receptionists greet clients and do some clerical work as well as light housekeeping. Requirements for the job are as follows: completion of the application, an interview, one shift per week, completion of a CPC training class, on-the-job training, and participation in volunteer in-services.

Fundraising Committee  These volunteers help to plan and carry out fundraising events.  Requirements for this job are as follows: completion of the application and an interview. Time commitment will vary.

Speakers’ Bureau   These volunteers speak to various groups about the Center and about pregnancy- related issues. Requirements for the job are as follows: completion of the application, an interview, and completion of a CPC training class.

Hannah’s Cupboard   (No Client Contact) These volunteers help sort, clean, and mend baby clothes as well as make up layettes to give to the clients. Earn While You Learn   These volunteers agree to be involved in various roles in the Earn While You Learn (EWYL) Program. These roles include, developing, teaching the classes, baby sitting, and assisting in this particular ministry. Requirements for this job are as follows: completion of application, an interview, completion of a CPC training class, and on-the-job training with EWYL Coordinator. Time commitment will vary. Sessions are held in the spring, summer, and fall.

Special Skills   These volunteers have special skills, such as clerical, handyman, computer, artistic, childbirth education, etc., that can be utilized by the Center. Requirements for the job are as follows: an interview and possibly completion of the application.

Prayer Chain   These volunteers agree to pray for the general and the specific needs of the ministry. Requirements for the job are as follows: completion of the application and an interview.
